As she tries to win over U.S. viewers as a contestant on America’s version of Strictly Come Dancing, it appears Katherine Jenkins is going for some old-fashioned Hollywood glamour.
The opera singer, 31, resembled Marilyn Monroe at a charity ball at the Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California, at the weekend.
But she wasn’t quite able to match the actress’s famous curves, having lost one and a half stone in her training for Dancing With The Stars.
‘I’ve lost a stone and a half,’ she said. ‘I’m burning so much energy now that it’s hard to put the weight back on.
‘But I like to be curvy so I’m trying not to lose any more. But I do want to be healthy, too – there are so many skimpy costumes to wear. That scares me.’
The singer later shared a picture of big pile of cakes as she told her followers she had been filling up on calorific treats.
In an interview with the MailOnline last year, Jenkins revealed she relied on a combination of jogging and Bikram yoga to stay in shape.
She said: ‘I’m not naturally a person that wants to exercise, but I find running is something I can do wherever I am in the world. I think Bikram is a really good thing, I think everyone should do it.’
She also follow a relaxed version of the Dukan diet – famously practised by Jennifer Lopez, Gisele Bundchen and the Middleton women.
She explains: ‘I do follow a version of the Dukan diet, but I don’t follow it to the extreme so a lot of fish and vegetables. If I want chocolate I’ll let myself have a bit of chocolate in moderation.’
